March 2025

Issue Three

Welcome Home, to Whiskey Company, where through this Newsletter we will be documenting our journey. The Good, The Bad and the Whiskey. Make sure to read thoroughly, you won’t want to miss what’s to come.

March – Spring is upon us, bringing flourishing and budding friendships and opportunities. While not much happens in this month, we can’t help but feel refreshed and ready to go.

Guard of the Month

“I ended up in Stormwind after losing my home in Dalaran because it was attacked and destroyed. A bit unsure of what I wanted to do, but still wanting to give people aid, I had the choice between going to Isle of Dorn with the 7th Legion, or aid within the borders of the Alliance as a member of the local military, so I chose the latter, as it was also a chance for me to meet new people and perhaps even learn new skills, and I’d say I have met a lot of nice new people after joining the City Guard…Also some weird ones, but such is how this duty is! Some days of course makes me regret my decision, but then there’s the people that drags me right back into my happy mood of having joined, making it all worth it in the end! Especially that feeling of having helped innocent people not deserving of being picked on by someone much larger than they are, and even though I am short of stature, I can make huge crystals of ice! I also enjoy aiding those who might not actually be mean for real, they have just been unfortunate to lose what they have, and this gives me a chance to connect with them, give them a chance, give them some of the help they need…And a slap on the wrist for being mean.”

Whats the Most Important Part of being a Guard?

We asked a select group of Whiskey Company Guards what the most import part of being a Guard is.

“Hmm… That is a tough question. There are a lot of important things that one needs to consider as a member of the guards. Butthe most imporant one? To save lives.” – Senior Constable Minura Ebonnight

“Being approachable and dependable! I always strive to lend an ear and be respectful when approached by citizens. We’re here to help and I want people to trust in us to do our best and be looking out for their best interests. From uniform to attitude to behavior!” – Junior Constable Mercia Sundiver

“The free coffee” – Junior Constable Sorand Cotts

“Discipline and integrity. Being able to navigate though it and despite it.” – Lieutenant Jane Thompson

“That’s a rather interesting question. There aren’t really any right or wrong answers, but is merely a matter of perspective and perhaps even opinion. For me, it’s having the sense of duty to protect the city of Stormwind and her people. It’s that driving force to do what’s right, and of course what’s best for the city and those that live in it that keeps me going on long shifts.” – Constable Alex Moorely

“To me, the most important part of being a guard and doing all this? Well, it’s kind of a complicated one to answer at first! There’s just a lot to it, honestly. But if I had to narrow it down, I’d say that it’s very important to not get too sucked in and lost in your duty. I mean, that’s the point of being a guard, isn’t it? But, well, there are times when that really drags you down and others too! Solve the problem, whatever it may be, but remember of the people involved, have an open heart and open mind. More than that, I know I can definitely get ‘guard brain’, and it’s difficult to turn off that part of my mind that is all about ‘duty, duty, duty’, but a good refresher and taking a step back is good. It allows you to not overwork and exhaust yourself, it ensures that whenever you do put on that suit of armour and get ready for anything, ready to protect the citizens of Stormwind, you have a clear mind. Generally it’s just good to separate between work and your personal life. Of course, there are so many more things that matter and that come together to make up the entirety of what a guard’s values and priorities should be, but I think this really matters to me a lot, since it actively affects many facets of this job.” – Junior Constable Sevynna Swiftbrook

“To protect citizens of Stormwind with all costs” – Constable Veronica Cooper

March Activities

First of March – Training – A public training partook, thank you to those who attended. We had a wonderful time on an obstacle course, getting wet and muddy.

Second of March – Parade – The first one of the month, march through the city, inspections, notices and promotions. Nothing much to add to such.

Fifteenth of March – Training – Situation Control by Acting-Captain Prescott! It was a brief lecture on how to respond to a fight situation. Always use comms to let others know before engaging. Use the fact you are two or more for this if applicable. And how to respond when you are called as reinforcements to this situation. Aka, don’t stand around idly, don’t just watch, help. If the situation under control, form a perimeter. You don’t need to know what is happening, go in and help your fellow officers in what they are doing.

Twenty Second of March – Training – Patrol Training by Sergeant Forgestone. The do’s and do not’s of patrols, did not go as planned. It was a busy evening of reports coming in left right and center.

Twenty Ninth of March – Funeral- Funeral for Ex-Captain of Whiskey Company, Ophelia Wright.

Thirtieth of March – Party – The annual Presentation evening. A short march, awards to members of the unit, notices, promotions and plenty of fun.

Crime

An important part of crime analysis is to look at the statistics of crime within an area. Whiskey is of course not the only City Guard company within the city, meaning this will be an incomplete look at the city as a whole, but more a look at the personal record of Whiskey Company.

The most common crime this month was Murder making up roughly 20.83% of all crimes dealt with by Whiskey Company.

Definition of Murder: A person is guilty of purder if they intentionally and with malicious intent kill another person.

Overall 24 reports were made this month. Of those 41.67% were Guard Logs, recording calls out that did not result in any investigation or reports. 0% of those were Medical Logs, detailing where a Medic needed to aid someone. And 58.33% of those were reports dealing with crimes.

Cadet’s Quote of the Month

“Three thousand years is a long time to weave threads—both of cloth and of fate. I’ve stitched garments for kings and unraveled secrets for the Kirin Tor, yet nothing has quite the… texture of the Stormwind Guard. Whiskey Company, in particular, is a curious tapestry: frayed edges, bold colors, and the occasional stubborn knot. But even the finest silks must endure a needle’s prick before they become something greater. My mentor, Feyria Silverdawn, would chide me for trading spellwork for patrols, but there’s elegance in order, in safeguarding the hands that craft and the hearts that dream. And if I must endure the indignity of being called ‘Cadet’ at my age? Well. Every masterpiece begins with a single stitch.” – Cadet Lynia Brightblood

Officer’s Quote of the Month

“A wise person once said ‘Grief is the price of love.” Me, I said it.’ – Acting Captain Lorelie Prescott
